Great Behavior!

Posted in

Today, the students decided what our class, small group rotation would "Look Like" and "Sound Like". During rotation, the children spend about 25 minutes at each of the three stations: Independent Seatwork, Small Group Instruction, and D.E.A.R. time. I thought I would share with you the behavior they thought you would see and hear if you were to walk into our classroom while they were working at their desks:

Looks Like

Sounds Like

The students completed the same sort of activity based on how they felt the library should look and sound when they visit for DEAR time.

DEAR Looks Like

DEAR Sounds Like

I'm very proud of their ability to describe the perfect kind of classroom!

Parent Night

Parent Night officially starts in about 45 minutes, and I'm hoping all goes well! For those of you who would like to review the content of the presentation, I thought I would post it here for your reference.

I'm having a wonderful time getting to know your children and am very excited for this school year!

First Day

Posted in ,

The first day was so much fun! We had such a great time getting to know one another. Most of the day was spent going over procedures, learning more about each other, organizing desks, and visiting the library. Mrs. McCracken gave a wonderful "Book Talk" about the Buccaneer Books for third grade. So many of us were looking forward to reading them!

I hope everyone enjoyed their first day as much as I did. We were so busy, the only moment I managed to take pictures was during lunch!

Welcome!

I've been very excited to start the new school year! There is so much we will be learning, and I promise we'll have fun along the way. This summer I've been working on developing new projects for us to create. It should be exciting!

There are a few important dates coming up. Please check here throughout the year for updates on what we are doing in class. It should help you and your family stay up to date on everything from what we're studying in class to what you should be working on at home.

I'm looking forward to meeting you and your family!
