We've been having fun today with fractions. Yes, I promise we have! The children are learning how to "make and take" fractions of a group, which is challenging. I promised I would post these links to help them brush up on their skills. Enjoy!
By clicking the egg on the left, you will visit a site where you can:
1. Click and drag the carton onto the screen.
2. Challenge yourself to show 1/3, 2/4, or 5/6 of a dozen by dragging the eggs into the carton (they should 'snap' in).
The string is there to help you divide the carton into sections to see if you've made equal groups, though I'm sorry there's no official way to check yourself.
Click the start button here and enter in the numerator and denominator.
Click the butterfly to try the same activity we used today or try the challenge problem found here.
